Family Photographer Cape Town

I love shooting family moments that actually look like your family, not a stock photo of one. Getting kids to cooperate in front of a camera is hard, I know, I've got two of my own. So I turn it into a game instead of a performance. Some of it's directed, most isn't. The goal is photos that look like your people on a normal day, just better lit.

Why Me?

Thousands of shoots in, and I still avoid the stiff lineup shot if I can help it. Everyone smiling on cue never actually looks like anyone.

Not comfortable on camera?

Most people aren't comfortable in front of a camera. That's fine, it's my job to make you forget it's there. Enough direction that you're not standing around awkwardly, not so much that it feels staged.

What You'll Get

You'll get a mix. A few fully posed shots, the "crime scene photography" which covers our bases. A couple of semi-posed setups to get things moving. Then unposed, just light prompts while everyone plays and I shoot around it.

Where Do We Shoot?

Blouberg gives you Table Mountain in the background and plenty of room for kids to run.

Constantia Green Belt has that forest light, and the kids always end up having more fun there than expected.

Llandudno has the best sunsets on the list, gets busy in season so we sometimes shoot as late as 7pm to dodge the crowds.

Types of Shoots:

Mini Shoot, R2200. Constantia Green Belt only, 20 minutes, a few posed shots then straight into natural rapport. About 10 images delivered.

Full Shoot, R4500. Llandudno, Blouberg or Green Belt. An hour, covers the formal shots you'll want as keepsakes, a couple of group setups, and enough chaos that everyone forgets about the camera. About 30 images delivered.

Pricing

I'm not the cheapest option out there and won't pretend to be. If budget's the main driver, I'm probably not your guy. If you want photos that don't look like everyone else's family shoot, that's what I do.

How to Book

Booking needs a 50% non-refundable deposit. If the weather turns, we'll find another day. Last-minute cancellations forfeit the deposit.
