How about a "Surprise Couple's Shoot" in the dunes of Atlantis
If you're looking for engagement shoot ideas in Cape Town, here's one: how about a "Surprise Couple's Shoot" in the dunes of Atlantis?
Armand contacted me, saying he wanted to do an engagement photoshoot in the dunes. Parks boards can be a bit sticky when it comes to photography permits. But since it wasn't a commercial shoot, they were on board and wonderful to deal with. Yay!
There was a charge of R150 for the shoot, which was very reasonable.
I'd also recommend hiring a 4x4 if your car isn't one; there's no way to navigate the dunes otherwise.
She had no idea he was going to propose.
As far as Mia knew, it was a surprise couple's shoot. She had no idea he was going to propose. Of course, I was in on it, and so was my assistant, Sue Store. We drove into the dunes in a delightful Suzuki Jimny—I see why they're so popular. I pointed out a picturesque spot we could use. Armand had sneaked me the engagement ring, so Mia didn't notice anything unusual in his pocket. We had a signal for when I was ready with the camera to capture the perfect moment as he asked her to marry him.
Then, while directing, I handed Armand the ring without Mia noticing, set up a shot, and gave the signal.
Her reaction was wonderful to see
He went down on one knee, much to Mia's surprise. At first, she hadn't realised what he was doing. Perfect! Her reaction was wonderful to see; tears filled her eyes as she said "Yes!"
It's moments like this that are worth seeing and capturing on camera. Her reaction was stunning!
It was such a pleasure to not only share this moment with them but also to capture it with beautiful photography for them.
