Could you have no wedding photographer?

Cindy and Mark decided against hiring a wedding photographer at their wedding. Now that's unusual. I've shot a lot of weddings and this was the first time someone had asked me to do a private after-shoot of sorts. We'd booked sunset at St. James, near Kalk bay, one of my favourite spots to shoot with couples. It's got these great brightly coloured old school changing rooms, ocean and often, some of the best sunsets you can get.

Clouds make photos look amazing!

I got there early with Jamie, my daughter and assistant for shoot, to pre-check my gear and see what the weather was like. Perfect! There were clouds! I love clouds in my pictures!

When Cindy and Mark arrived, they looked great! Cindy's dress was absolutely perfect for her, and Mark was wearing a tuxedo. It looked good! Mark had a bit of a James Bond look about him as well. Cindy, not outshone in any way, looked incredible.

Ninja-bombing your own wedding.

It was then; the couple told me they'd just come directly from their own wedding. I was surprised! "And the guests?" I remarked. They said it was the end of the day, they's said their goodbyes and wanted to do an intimate shoot. And that's what we did.

I'm sure you'll agree. The images came out really nicely. I especially love the one I've used as the feature image. With Mark seated on the rocks and Cindy behind him, giving her dress a bit of a flamenco flip. :-)
